The Ashtabula Harbor Beach Glass Festival was created by Troy and Lori Dalrymple, who owned and operated Beaches, INC handcrafted jewelry and design company in Ashtabula, OH, in 2010. The Dalrymples wanted to create more knowledge and intrigue about beach glass and beach glass jewelry. After 10 years of dedication and exemplary ownership, the Dalrymples decided to “retire” from the event and handed it off to our current Owner/Operator/Promoter Melody Shiflet. Melody took over operations in 2020 as CoVID spread and created massive shutdowns worldwide. The 2020 vendors are the only reason our event continues today. That group of individuals allowed us to hold their funds, many of which were tied up with other vendors (trash, toilets, advertising) whilst EVERYONE was just trying to figure out what to do and how to operate during the global pandemic. Those vendors not demanding money back as we were starting from scratch again allowed us to throw an event the following year just WEEKS after the state of Ohio reopened for festivals and mass gatherings! We threw the biggest and most attended beach glass festival Bridge Street and the Historic Ashtabula Harbor had ever seen. Some vendors were sold out within hours. That year, 2021 was a one day event as it was planned and promoted in just a few short weeks and the reception of the state reopening was still relatively unknown - we had to prepare for a flop and hope for the best! After the massive success of the one day event in 2021, 2022 was nearly double the size with 100 vendors and returned to the original two day format. 2022 was another incredible year for the event and vendors with nearly 95% vendor retention from the previous year! In 2023, with another 90%+ vendor retention rate, and nearly 25% vendor growth, the event was again an incredible success by all measures. We won’t have retention data for 2023 until 2024, but in 2023 over 70 vendors PAID their registration fee on January 1, 2023, which is the very first day you can possibly do so. We did begin a new early registration process in the September of 2023, allowing up to 50 of our 2023 vendors to register for 2024 and within 24 hours we had all 50 of those first slots available for 2024 registered and paid in full to complete our first ever early registration as a sell out! This event is highly sought after by artists, vendors, customers, beach glass collectors, beach glass lovers and enthusiasts! We are dedicated to our event, vendors, attendees/customers, community and fellow business owners/operators on Bridge Street and in the surrounding Historic Ashtabula Harbor. You

You should consider yourself an artist and your work art! If you don’t take yourself or your work seriously, neither will anyone else! Your items do not have to be completely handmade or naturally sourced - you are permitted to use tumbled glass in your coastal arts, provided you are open and honest about the type of glass contained in your works. There is no penalty for using tumbled or sourced from a third party glass. You should have basic comprehension skills, the ability to take direction and work well with others.

As our show continues to grow in attendance (over 12K) we will limit our growth to help each vendor maximize their exposure and earning potential. We had 130 artists/vendors in 2023 who will automatically receive invitations to return for 2024. After their initial 2 week registration period has ended (January 1 - January 14) we will begin inviting our NEW VENDORS who have been approved through this application process. That means we may have as few as 20 openings. We will keep applications open until December 31st then reopen the applications pending remaining availability after our January 15th initial offering to approved applicants.

YOU CANNOT BECOME A NEW VENDOR WITHOUT COMPLETING THE NEW VENDOR APPLICATION PROCESS.

FEES: There is a $25 fee to apply. This event has grown exponentially over the past 3 years and it is a self-funded/operated event. We do not have sponsors or sponsorships, we like to keep our event ours! All the fees for applications and registrations are what pay the bills - advertising, security, insurances, day-of operations, administrative duties and more. WE DO NOT ACCEPT MLM (multi level marketing) OR CORPORATE VENDORS! We give preference to beach glass and beach themed vendors; however, we allow a percentage of our vendors to be food or unrelated items in an effort to broaden our customer base and allow for a small amount of variety while maintaining the integrity of what we are… A BEACH GLASS & BEACH THEMED FESTIVAL! Application fees are non-refundable, non-negotiable and non-transferable.

Applications will be processed (reviewed and a response given) within 7 days of receipt.

Your application must be complete (available below) and accompanied by 5 - 10 photos of your art/work/products EMAILED to beachglassfestival@gmail.com within 24 hours of completing your Square application payment. Payments not accompanied by applications and photos will not be refunded.

Applications ARE NOT a registration and DO NOT guarantee a space at the event. Applications are our way of approving those who will be ELIGIBLE to register for event space. Approved applicants will be added to our list and receive registration forms/information on January 15th after our 2023 have had 2 weeks to complete their registrations. Spaces are on a first come, first serve basis and we will not exceed 150 vendors regardless of the number of approved vendors. If you are approved to be a 2024 vendor and are unable to complete your registration in time to make the 150, you can still be added to our wait list, this will make you eligible to replace any vendors who may drop out of the event between January 1 - June 20th, 2024. The cost of registration is $300 for new artists/vendors and due at the time of registration.

Once your completed application and photos are received you will receive an auto-generated invoice for your $25 application fee within 72 hours. Invoices will be sent to the email listed on your application. An application is not considered complete until payment is received. Once payment is received and your application is complete you will receive a response regarding your application status within 7 -10 days!
